David Phillips said this winter, the warmest and driest on record for 63 years, may be setting the stage for a summer plagued by a host of problems ranging from droughts to rampant insect populations.
Temperatures from December through February - the period Environment Canada defines as winter - were four degrees higher than what's considered normal for this time of year, he said, adding that precipitation levels were 22 per cent lower than usual across the country.

Whatever Happened to Respecting the Constitution?

"Article 1, Section 2: 'The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct.'" -- Seems pretty clear cut, no? Anyone who claims to respect and uphold the Constitution should have no problem with the census - without a clear enumeration of the population, it's impossible to determine the appropriate size of Congressional districts, at the very least.

No, it's not some kind of kinky new position. The BBC has an online test that you can try to see where your brain supposedly falls along the male-female continuum. Are your responses more in line with men, or women? It's an interesting test, although one can question the utility of the results.

Resigned Congressman Eric Massa (D-NY) now blames a conspiracy involving "the son of devil spawn," a naked Rahm Emmanuel and full frontal spa nudity for his downfall. Then it gets weird. He plans to expound during a pending Glenn Beck appearance.

My TnT mug was a big hit with the family when it first showed up. However, after about a dozen trips through the dishwashing machine, the colors have really faded.

Based on the bestselling epic fantasy by George R.R. Martin. This is no Lord of the Rings - there are very few pure "heroes" in this series, a lot of sympathetic characters (some who you think are the main focus of the series, even) die ignoble deaths, and all with lots of the blood, sex, and ultraviolence.

- Retiring Freshman Congressman Eric Massa (D-NY) is now being accused of making gay sex advances on his male staffers. He had announced on Wednesday he was retiring because a once cured cancer had returned and was terminal.
- Another Governor Paterson official resigned after a day in seclusion away from the public. The governor has also been formally accused by the State Ethics Board of accepting free tickets to the World Series, then lying/misleading about his plans to pay for them later.
