today thefadd called me illiterate AND liked what I said

suckerpunch.

I'm so confused. That's like saying "your outfit sucked but I just love your new hairdo!"

I've no idea how this diary thing works. I guess it's like a blog but you'll have a different kind of stalkers than MySpace, which depending on who you are, is either a bad or a good thing.

... other users in my diary entry.  I'll just return the favor by saying I did a scan through those names and was impressed like you were how many made the passage over.  Hopefully people will get comfortable with the place and start commenting like they used to do.

BTW, have a happy Fourth of July.

Your comment that my story sub was dangerously close to a plug to go see the new Superman movie is right!

Dammit!

I did not mean for that to be the case. I definitely want to see the new movie, quite badly, but that doesn't excuse the shoddily short writeup I put up for us.

The Excuses: I was at work, and didn't have time to really dedicate to giving the story meat. I just love movies & comics, and re-watched the 1978 Superman movie the night before. Dead actors (Marlon Brando + Christopher Reeve) made me cry, along with living actor Glenn Ford as a dying father. The US, as something critically fucked up, now, yet depicted (in the 70's!) as something semi-innocent made me very sad. The cheap back-screen projections of the Statue of Liberty & the World Trade Towers reminded me of how critical I was of special effects as a youngster, and made me sad. Blah-blah-blah.

Anyways, I'll try and do better next time.

PS: I would really like a private message option for this kind of dork-missive.

but I do remember I meant illiterate in a good way.

I agree with the above posters, I'm glad so many people have made their way here. And maybe even more will as plastic continues to not return. I'm just not sure what's missing to get the level and number of comments higher. I think better defined sections, like scitech, politics, etc would help. Me getting off my ass and doing a write-up wouldn't hurt, either... :-)
