Saw Al Gore last night on the Daily Show

I must say, he looked better now than he did six years ago.  He says he's not running for anything, just promoting a cause.  I'll believe that when the inevitable Hillary flameout occurs among the Democrats.

Note to self -- go see the movie.

Remember how much better Bob Dole looked after he lost to Clinton? When he's been on the Daily Show, Dole's always been a pisser.

Apparently, running for office really sucks the life out of you.

...or whatever Gore was using at the time.  Remember, he campaigned for something like 48 or more continuous hours during the home stretch of the 2000 election.

Man, these guys have the ears (and wallets) of the pharmaceutical industry paying close attention to their words-- Gore probably got the best legal speed money could buy, if he had to pay. All the attentiveness with none of the paranoia and shakes.
Good to see you made the migration. The atmospere is a bit subdued so far, but then this millstone is just beginning to roll downhill.

I saw it last weekend.  It was a little weird, being maybe 70% about global warming, and 30% about Gore himself.  Personally, I found that offputting.  I mean, I can understand the need for a human insterest angle, and the filmic need to cut away every so often from the guy on the podium with the slide show, but there are other humans that can be filmed besides Gore.

I think I understand why it was put together this way--people will want to bring up stuff like the 2000 election when talking about Al Gore--but it still came across like a recruitment video to a personality cult.

Glad to see you're back, too!  In Plastic's absence, I've been pissing away too much time on Civ IV.  I never get above the Dan Quayle level, though.....
