Banned in Canada

Canada's Border Services Agency recently released its list of examined and prohibited videos for the third quarter of 2007, and The Smoking Gun was there.

Topping the list of banned for import videos is the tastefully titled "Bondage Pigs", as well as "Real Mother Daughter Incest 3" (no word on the import status of "Real Mother Daughter Incest 1" and "Real Mother Daughter Incest 2").  Modern classics such as Ass Jazz and Severe Asian Restraints #44 also made it on the prohibited list, but Canadian TnT readers will be pleased to note that they can continue to follow franchise productions Nasty Hardcore Latinas (volume #3 of which was approved for import) and Naughty Little Asians (of which the suspense filled volume #21 was approved for entry).  Uromania #14, Piss Party, and Piss and Cum Cocktail were also approved, so the watersports lovers in the crowd may also breathe a sigh of relief that their favorite fetish is apparently Mounted Police Approved TM. Also examined and passed through inspection was the edgy, racy, PG rated Napoleon Dynamite.

When I saw that list my first thought was they had embargoed every film in Larry Craig's home DVD collection.

Illegitimi non carborundum.

3.00 (interesting)

What is the logic behind these bans? I can see why Real Mother Daughter Incest 3 and Bondage pigs might be offensive, but if offensive is your cutoff point, then surely Piss and Cum Cocktail deserves to go. If it's violent content that's being banned, then what's up with Severe Asian Restraint #44 making it in? It just seems pretty arbitrary. Any TnTers have some insight on these fine points of Canadian import law?

Ce n'est pas une pipe. C'est une signature.

5.00 (astute)

Just guessing from the titles here...bondage pigs sounds especially degrading since (I'm assuming it's people and not bestiality) the people are equated to animals and probably treated as such. "Severe Asian Restraint" while ostensibly in the same genre doesn't sound more restrained at least by the title. Real incest, if it is real is illegal in and of itself in most locales so shouldn't really be allowed. Golden showers, while theoretically disgusting, don't have the psychological implications of treating people like animals or intra-family sexually encounters. Those examples actually all make sense to me.

It is easy to buy small plaster models of what you think life is like.

should say "...genre does sound..." and no pun intended on the use of restrained.

Turned out to be just a bunch of closed circuit videos from a subway.

Perhaps since Severe Asian Restraint #1-43 were accepted they had to let in the 44th due to precedent.

I think it is interesting how the Canadians seem to apply the ban hammer to anybody and everybody who has been convicted of even minor offenses. Apparently if you have even a single DUI of 0.09 on your record the Canadians might not admit you. Even our president is theoretically persona non grata.

I heard a funny story of a protester (can't find the link) who got busted for being overly obnoxious at an anti-war rally and then was ejected from Canada later when they tried to visit some of the Iraq War deserters. That kind of made me laugh.

Spread it on!

I think what we're seeing is evidence of the proclivities of the members of the Prohibited Importations Unit. (Huh-huh. I said "members.")

Anyway, all we can be sure of is that Tom "Ropes" McGurk is having a bad year as far as his Canadian distribution is concerned.

What's perhaps more interesting is the PIU's choices for what qualifies as prohibited hate speech. The International European American Unity & Leadership Conference: Complete Duke Speeches DVD is banned, but the flyer A Few Moments in Black History, produced by Mystic Knights of the Ku Klux Klan is okay.

Probably the same logic that's behind the ratings... virtually none.
