Is Joe Biden walking into a trap?

Like many people, I have watched the Sarah Palin interviews with amazement and a no small amount of pity.  Oh my...she really is that provincial.  However, now I'm thinking that this all could have been a clever ruse to a. lower the bar at which she must perform tonight and b. lull Biden into a sense of false confidence.  Could she be this Machiavellian or are we seeing the invisible hand of Carl Rove?

5.00 (funny)

I hope not because I'd hate to watch Sarah Palin field dressing him on camera.

I dunno.

Do you think Biden can restrain himself when Palin blows the moose mating call?

Probably.  Biden belongs to the Knights of Columbus.

5.00 (interesting, interesting)

I think that both Biden and Palin are so filled with their own self-importance...and so gaff-prone...this could turn out to be the most entertaining debate in years.

Biden just needs to shut the hell up and he will win with flying colors. Of course, that is a tall order for him...

5.00 (informative)

A Veep debate is big news? How about the McCain campaign pulling out of Michigan, essentially ceding the state with over a month to go in the election. Kerry had won Michigan . . by about 160K votes, out of nearly 5 million. Republicans had definitely thought the state was in play, but Obama now has- depending on whether and how much you believe polls- a double digit lead.
Serious trend or blip on the radar? I'd lay good money that this is far more important than anything that's going to happen tonight, when it's all said and done. At least as far as the election goes; on the culture war front, well, that's a whole 'nother story.

There has to be a spring for a trap to work.  I doubt Palin has the steel in her to snap Biden.

On the one hand, there will be a lot of crying about how mean everyone was to Palin after it's all over.  On the other hand, I don't think anyone wants a terrified little country librarian to be in charge of the country.
