Breaking The Matrix

The Ron Paul inspired cable network Break The Matrix has been picked up by independent cable operator Bay Country Communications out of Maryland. The infant network's strategy includes hooking up with the so-called "independent" cable operators who serve 12 million American households.

Trevor Lyman, the originator of the political campaign "money bomb," the "Tea Party 07," and the Ron Paul Blimp is attempting to foment a self-styled media "revolution." To do this, he has organized Basic Media, Inc., "a for profit media company being organized to challenge the monopoly stranglehold of our mainstream media in America. For far too long, the mainstream media has held an iron grip on all of the news, information and entertainment that the American people hear, see and receive," according to the press release.

Despite the ambitious goals, Lyman is not already without his detractors--and competitors in an ever more fragmented and diverse marketplace.

5.00 (astute, astute, astute)

I don't think this will go very far, unfortunately.  The reason the mainstream news channels play what the play is that's what sells - it's what people want to hear.  If there was a demand for a real "independent voice" we'd see it, but as it is people like their pap and their Lou Dobbs and their Bill O'Reilly.  People don't want liberty anymore - they want security, bread & circuses.

5.00 (brilliant, informative)

I find it interesting that after several terms in Congress a guy still has the interests of his constituents property, rights, and privacy in mind. In addition, he seems to be one of the few people in Congress fighting against unchecked expansion of government power as well as demanding fiscal responsibility.

A rare breed, indeed.

Ron Paul is the last hope for a truly conservative Republican party.

He's also a fascinating individual.

MSM = Men who have Sex with Men*?

Then again, that is a good analysis of the level the mainstream media has fallen to.
