The Reverend wants a eunuch for a President?

"See, Barack's been talking down to black people ... I want to cut his nuts off" ~ Rev. Jesse Jackson

Witnesses say the Reverend made these commends while awaiting an appearance on Fox News Channel's 'Fox & Friends' TV show a few days ago, unaware that there was a "hot mic" on in the area. The reports indicated that as he said this he made a crude gesture towards his genitals and then pantomimed pulling testicles off.

Rev. Jackson got out in front of the impending scandal on Wednesday when he learned that the "O'Reilly Factor" would air his commentary that evening. He pre-emptively apologized to Senator Obama and complimented him for his service, adding that the comments were not intended to be a 'public declaration'  and later denied that he thought Obama talks down to African-Americans. The Obama campaign quickly responded that the apology was accepted.

This is not the first time Rev. Jackson has been in the hot seat for comments against Senator Obama. Last year he accused the Senator of "acting white" for not supporting the Jena Six in a more public manner. Of course his most famous insensitive comment came in 1984 when he referred to New York City as "hymietown" and then did not apologize until a large amount of outrage built.

Political operatives and spin doctors say that this controversy could actually work to Obama's advantage. It helped bury news of his vote for FISA and retroactive immunity it could also draw white voters to him that would have otherwise been uncomfortable with any potential link to people like Rev. Jackson.

The sad thing is...

5.00 (interesting)

In about 2 months from now (maybe less) people will forget all about this, just as they did the commentary about the Jewish people in NYC. He will go back on talk shows and continue to make a living off of divisive politics that doesn't really help anybody. From CNN's iReport function it seems a large portion of the African-American community doesn't want anything to do with him, either.

I have heard many a person say that "Rev(s)" Al & Jackson's biggest fear is Obama getting elected President. How could they then logically make money off telling people they are being kept down and oppressed when one of their member gains the highest office in the land?

How will the reverends fare if Obama wins? Well, how many Republicans will win this year because they belong to the party of smaller government? How many Democrats will win because they "stopped" Bush? The reality may not match the rhetoric, but as the saying goes, "hype springs eternal."

... or half black won't mean that Rev Al and Rev Jesse and others of their ilk won't continue fighting the man.  If anything, Obama will just be called half a black or a puppet and the bluster will continue.

They might call him a lot worse, judging by some of the stuff said about Condolezza Rice.
