This is bullshit!

Like a band that has multiple platinum albums and recently made the cover of Billboard should put up with this indignity.

CNN commissioned self aggrandizing American Idol reject and overrated "Rocker" Christopher Adam Daughtry to make a music video to encourage people to vote. In it, he covers the hit Foreigner song "Feels like the First time." His rendition of this historical power ballad has been panned as almost "creepy."

As somebody who has seen Foreigner perform live, I can attest to the fact that his sorry rendition is absolutely nothing compared to the power hard rock Foreigner brings to the party. In fact, most of his mediocre music video seems to consist of him attempting to orally copulate the microphone or something, random electoral feel goodery, and horrific dance moves that I as the whitest guy on the block, who only knows the first 3 steps to the famed "soulja boy" dance and possibly the "Cooking the Pizza" could do a hell of a lot better than that. So why in the hell are they allowing some reject made for TV permanent country fair opening act guy to cover their music? How disgraceful.

In other news, Foreigner is expanding to cover a new market niche. Old ass people who like to buy insurance and sit around planning their funeral. My sources can't confirm it at this hour but this may include Wilford Brimley. My apologies to Lou and his customers. I don't really see it, but I suppose everybody has the right to really rock it out hard before they die. Even if you are on oxygen from the black lung disease you got when you were fighting the Kaiser. As long as you keep it down after 6:45, I guess.

4.00 (funny, astute)

I read the second link first, and for a moment was chilled to the bone to think that Daughtry had made the cover of Billboard when I wasn't looking.

The minimum age to join AARP is 50...two and a half years from now for me...and I grew up listening to Foreigner...albeit when I was in another person's car and I had no control of the radio.  I know the memory is the first to go, but I really don't remember Foreigner writing any patriotic songs to help us in our fight against the Kaiser.

I don't think I was implying Foreigner helped in any way in the fight against the Kaiser since they weren't active then. I'm just saying that octa- and nonagenarians have a right to jam as much as the next guy. However, if you had a time machine I am sure sending Foreigner back in time to perform "At War with the World" and their relatively unknown classic "Entente Power Heroes!" would really have helped the war effort.
