President Obama addresses the United States (and world) at 9pm EST. The President is expected to demand tax reform while the Republican response is expected to blame him for the economy. Obama is expected to ask Congress for a wide variety of initiatives, many of which are already declared dead on arrival by pundits.

The entire speech was a centrist bore-fest, but it was "competent". Likewise, Governor Daniels' response was also adequate, yet boring as all hell.

My favorite part of the speech was Mrs. Obama visibly groaning over her husband's "crying over spilt milk" joke. I LOVE HER.

What was up with the protectionism? Can anybody really look at this chart and claim with a straight face that China is the reason manufacturing jobs have been decreasing in the US as opposed to automation?

In another discussion with one of these simpletons who wish we had more manufacturing jobs I pointed out that if the same fraction of the US workforce was in manufacturing today as in 1950, their total output at today's productivity would exceed the entire manufacturing output of the world by a good margin.

His focus has been enacting failed left wing policies. His charisma was a mirage, in actuality he has an icy, distant personality, and is lazy. He hasn't reached out to those not in his core constituencies. Many who voted for him believed (delusionally) if he were elected President Americans would be able to move on from the "racism" of the past, and that his example would improve the behavior of blacks. That hasn't happened, of course, and he's made no effort in that direction.

I described violent criminals as niggers and coons. Aptly. If that upsets you, maybe Novy will let you cry on his shoulder. Obama is lazy, that's not a "dog whistle". I have no use for dog whistles. Though to be fair, some of his listlessness likely stems from depression.
