What's the "center" that Romney is pushing towards?
Extrajudicial assassinations, endless wars, GITMO torture, bending over for banks, tax cuts, mercenaries, Paul Ryan's budget and the Heritage Foundation's health care plan?
Oh wait, that's the "extreme left" Obama- surely Romney and Obama can meet somewhere far to the right of that.

I think that Romney is actually a pretty centrist guy - HOWEVER - I don't think that he can afford to be a centrist. Much like Bush II governed Texas as a centrist, but then was pretty darn conservative as a president (far more so than his father, anyway), I think we'd see the same thing from Romney - he'd face too much pressure from the rank and file to deviate too much from the party line. At least for the first two years of his term, he'd have to throw them some red meat. If that led to Democratic gains in the House and Senate in 2014, maybe we'd see some triangulation from 2014-2016, but if he's viewed as a weak president the threat of being primaried might even hold that in check.

A lot of the obits of Santorum's campaign that I've read coming from Republicans have said things like what an honorable and principled guy he was, and how he and his family sacrificed so much to serve the country...bullshit. The guy decided to sacrifice his family's wellbeing to run a presidential campaign to serve his own political self interest. He endorsed Arlen Specter back in the day, for chrissake. He's been a lobbyist, a TV show talking head...this was about his own personal self-advancement as much as or more than anything else. If he was really interested in serving the country, there were and remain plenty of other options that would have been about more than just fluffing his ego...particularly as it's been obvious from almost the beginning that he barely had a snowball's chance in hell to win the nomination, let alone actually win the presidency. Dude's a selfish dick and he needs to STFU and get off the national stage now. As my pastor always said when I was growing up, the best way to convince others to lead a moral life is to show, not tell (and certainly not to force).

It's interesting but also sometimes scary especially since these things are starting to show up in bathrooms in nightclubs and bars. You can't go anywhere without some type of stimulus coming at you but it's effective. but pregnancy at 40is very inportant topics for us.
