BREAKING NEWS: Edwards Not Guilty on One Count, Jury Deadlocked on 5 Others

In the trial of former VP candidate John Edwards for misappropriation of campaign funds, the jury has found him Not Guilty on one of the 6 counts against him, but are deadlocked on the other 5. The Edwards defense team asked for a mistrial on the other counts, but the judge has sent the jury back for more deliberations.

He's not the only one. As pointed out in this commentary, While he is certainly a skunk, he was also the Democrat's man to fill the second-most important post in the nation. Yet even while he and his fixers set up a ludicrous plan to hide his sins, the mainstream media almost let him get away with it. The only beacon of truth that saved us from having this man as an eventual contender for the Oval Office was the National Enquirer!!!

The guy is a jerk, but could they really prove a crime happened? He was facing decades for something so esoteric that most people (including myself) needed it explained to them multiple times. Meanwhile the idiots who crashed the financial system are running around all rich and flush full of cash.

Personally, I find it pretty difficult to believe that "Bunny" Mellon, in gifting $100K's to keep Edwards' mistress out sight and media mind, was purely concerned about Edwards' marital harmony and not at all with his viability as a candidate.
