Nearly five years after the U.S. invasion of Iraq, an exhaustive examination of the record shows that the statements were part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretenses.

It looks like US immigration reform got canned but President Bush won't let it die. Was it Democratic Senate Leader Harry Reid's fault? It looks like he's getting the blame. Maybe it was so cobbled together with such an odd coalition that was doomed from the outset.

His poll numbers remain down. Whether he wants to acknowledge it or not, the midterm elections turned on the question of whether the public supports the war in Iraq.
