Guy Earle claims to be an edgy stand up comic and one who will fight back if heckled. So, last year when he was heckled during a performance, he responded in kind. Used a bit of abusive language, he did. Made disparaging remarks about the sexual orientation of the hecklers, he did. He says it's allowed as he's a bit of an asshole and it's part of his act. Apparently, not everyone agrees because he's facing a hearing in front of a provincial Human Rights Tribunal. He sees it as an attack on his free speech rights while the government likes to think of it as more like prosecuting hate speech.

Some psychics claim they have the power to gather information they normally wouldn't have access to, see into the future and read your mind or transmit information by the power of thought. They even claim they can help police solve crimes. For most of us psychic powers seem either fantastic or weirdly interesting and amusing, yet ultimately harmless. But, according to Colleen Leduc of Barrie, Ontario her encounter with a psychic was anything but amusing.

We've all heard of the phrase "giving of yourself for others." Stacey Fearnall is a person who lives by that credo. She believes in it so much the 36-year-old from Owen Sound, Ontario offered to shave her head in return for pledges to a local cancer charity. People pledged (CN)$2,700 and Stacey took the razor to her "long red locks." Then she showed up for work at Nathaniel's restaurant thinking she had done a good deed. If she was expecting to be congratulated for doing a bit for charity, she's disappointed. Stacey was told to leave work and not return for the rest of the summer.
