The year was 1985 and Anvil were the hottest band on the Canadian metal scene. They toured Europe, America and Japan and played to festival crowds at Monsters of Rock. They counted among their fans the members of Metallica, Motorhead, Guns n' Roses, Slayer and Pantera. Their rock anthem Metal on Metal was a crowd-pleaser that never failed to get heads banging and Anvil were poised for stardom. It never happened, but here's the twist: they never gave up. 35 years later, Anvil are still together, still touring, and still chasing their rock and roll dreams.
