The last week has seen major new releases from two of the "big big four" web browsers. Firefox 3 was released Tuesday, June 17th, while Opera 9.5 was released last Thursday, June 12th (both have been released in beta form for a number of months).

Windows Vista - the O/S That Everyone Loves to Hate

Like it or not, Windows Vista is on the horizon for many, and they're not all happy about it.  Windows XP has a limited time left.  XP has some life in it for a while, but it's headed for oblivion.

I've been running Vista for a couple of months now, and It's fine.  I do, however, have a machine with a bit more horsepower than many -- 2GHz AMD Turion 64x2 dual-core processor, 3GB RAM, 250GB HD.

Microsoft Opening a New Vista On Screwing Consumers?

Ten thousand people labored for five years to create Microsoft Windows Vista, and this week it will finally be offered to consumers.  To use it, you'll need to buy a copy for around $150.  You will probably also need to upgrade your machine (especially if you want to use the cool Aero graphics).  And, oh, one other thing: You will also have to allow remote corporations complete control over some aspects of how your machine behaves.

A new wave of video game consoles are being released across the USA, with Nintendo and Sony both releasing new consoles for the holiday season (the Wii and PS3, respectively), and with Microsoft ramping up marketing for its console, the Xbox 360.
