After a full decade as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Tony Blair, head of the UK's Labour Party, has announced that he will resign from office on June 27th.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair was the first to think the heretofore unthinkable - involve Iran as part of the solution to Iraq, rather than a part of the problem of the region. Was Blair trying a Nobel Prize move or just an attempt to make it easier for his successor to operate on the world stage? Who knows, but when one of the most solid of George Bush's partners in Iraq shows a little bit of independence from the official line of "we'll leave when the job is done" it's got to raise some eyebrows.
