TV Spat Signals Future of Broadcasting Business?

Broadcasting Conglomerate LIN Corporation recently put 2,700,000 Time Warner Cable subscribers in the dark nationwide by cutting off rebroadcasting of local CBS affiliates and other channels it controls. At issue is whether or not Time Warner Cable should pay the local affiliates for signals that their own customers could get for free with an antennae or over the internet (after a delay).

Don LaFontaine, the "movie trailer voiceover guy" has passed away at age 68 due to complications from a collapsed lung.  He'd done work for over five thousand movies.

Unless you've been living in a box, you probably already know that come February, 2009, the FCC is shutting down regular analog TV broadcasts in the US.

Three of the most used web services are being torn apart by the legal ramifications of copyright. YouTube (owned by Google), GoogleNews, and MySpace have all seen the writing on the wall (or been handed a judgment) regarding the unauthorized usage of copyrighted materials by their sites. YouTube and MySpace have the same problem, their users are posting copyrighted videos and both have started to act on it. GoogleNews has dug its own grave after losing a recent court case in Belgium.
