It's a tradition at many American high schools. The graduating class seniors get together to pull some sort of audacious and outrageous prank. For the most part, they are harmless stunts committed without longterm consequence but they also factor into the memories of those seniors years and years later. Sometimes, traditions just have to end and it seems that high school administrators are becoming less and less indulgent of these student pranks.

When Jem Lugo sat down to compose her valedictory address to her graduating class at a Florida high school, she was struck by how mundane most of them tend to be. The 18-year-old wanted to avoid all the typical wit and wisdom of your garden variety farewell remarks. She wanted to give her class something that was "real", something they could use. Unfortunately, what she was prepared to deliver was too real for school authorities, so she had to come up with an alternate version. But, it's an alternate version she claims really wasn't hers.

There are events in your child's life which are considered musts for parents to attend - like a child's graduation from high school, for instance. But, when Alex Dinkel walks down the aisle at his graduation ceremony at Covington Catholic High School in May, he's just going to have to get used to the idea that his mom won't be there. His mom's absence isn't her idea - she wants to be there very badly. It's just that the Catholic Diocese of Covington, Kentucky says she's definitely not wanted and, if she shows up, security will remove her.

They say it's not important whether you win or lose, but how you play the game. Add an addendum to that old saw - as unimportant as winning and losing might be and how you play the game; it's absolutely critical that your uniform be regulation. There's a high school squad in Illinois which can attest to that and probably tell you just how rotten it all is.

Darris Ford believes his high school did him wrong. He says the confrontation he had with a teacher at Hazelwood East High School near St. Louis was a "misunderstanding." He served a suspension, but he's been reinstated to school. Although he's back in school, he is not allowed to play with the football team. This doesn't sit well with Ford at all because, without his being able to play the remainder of this season, he claims the school is jeopardizing his future.

Anjali Datta is one smart young lady. The 16-year-old from Grapevine, Texas is smart enough to have aced the ACT. She's smart enough to have clearly established herself as the top student in her graduating class. She's so smart she's managed to graduate a year early from Grapevine High School (GHS). Unfortunately, it looks like she outsmarted herself from being class valedictorian.

"What's funnier than a gorilla chasing bananas through a school? Nothing. It was a harmless prank." - Andrew Leinonen
There probably are funnier things than that, but it was funny enough for a group of seniors at an Illinois high school to try to pull off. Unfortunately for them, the school administration missed the joke and all 11 members of the Banana Bunch and Gorilla Guy are serving seven-day suspensions.

K. Syvette Wimberly is angry because she starred in "Anal Camera 19." Well, technically she didn't. It turns out her name was hijacked by a former high school friend for use in the adult film industry.

Every spring, like clockwork, thousands of high school students in the United States prepare to attend the prom. A good time, full of life changing experiences, is usually had by all, though there are times when it leads to trouble. Many school districts usually attempt to dissuade teens from letting the prom experience become deadly with graphic depictions of what happens when good proms go bad. However, one school district has turned the tables on who gets to sit through pre-prom education sessions by requiring all parents to go.
