What do you do if you came to America seeking work but US economy now heads into downturn and various state governments treat you like public enemy number one? Maybe you go home to Mexico and see if skills you acquired up north will support you. Mexican consular officials in Phoenix say they are seeing larger numbers of people applying for Mexican citizenship for their U.S.-born children, allowing them to enroll in Mexican schools, and requesting papers allowing them to carry household belongings back to Mexico free of import duties.

When a person is subjected to an unprovoked mauling from a dog, most communities would show a little sympathy for the human victim. Some of them might want to know when the dog will be euthanized. Some might even want the owners to face criminal charges. But Princeton, New Jersey is not your average community - it's a well-to-do Ivy League town. And the human victim isn't your average Princetonian - he's a landscaper from Honduras. Thus, the community's rallying around the dog while the victim's the target of anti-immigration invective.

Small town Hazleton, PA found its notable immigration law package struck down by federal courts recently who ruled that they were attempting to take on a federal issue without proper authority and denying due process to city residents, both legal and illegal.

In the United States there are 11.1 million illegal immigrants. Associated with them are 3.1 million children who are US citizens by birthright. Recently, government crackdowns on illegal immigrants inside the country (instead of at the border) have worried illegal aliens that their US citizen-born children will be left without parents and have begun using this as an argument to justify delays in deportation.

Thirty-four illegal immigrants were rounded up by ICE outside of Buffalo, NY, and face deportation to Mexico. While this case normally would not make the newspaper, however, it has some unique aspects which drew attention.
