Embattled mortgage servicer and lender Countrywide is coming under fire again. This time, the outrage has also snared prominent politicians and lawmakers. The allegations? That the mortgage broker was offering cut rates and waiving fees for the politicians that regular people had no hope of getting.

With millions of people being foreclosed and even renters who haven't missed a payment being unexpectedly evicted due to their landlords defaulting, frustrations are rising and tempers flaring.  In Las Vegas, banks are paying the former owners hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars to try and curb the destruction of foreclosed homes.

Much has been written about the real estate bubble threatening to burst in various cities around the country.  But, if the Center for Responsible Lending (CRL), a major non-profit policy and research organization has it correctly, the next bubble to pop will be the foreclosure bubble.  According to the CRL, when that bubble pops, could cost 2.2 million Americans their homes.
