William Kostric showed up a church outside the Portsmouth, NH town hall meeting yesterday to protest President Obama's health care plan. He carried with him two things: a sign quoting President Thomas Jefferson and a legally registered and holstered 9mm pistol. The latter drew significant attention from the media, mostly notably MSNBC anchor Carlos Watson who made an on-air call for Mr. Kostric to be forcibly detained and disarmed even after being told that Mr. Kostric's actions were completely legal.

A Michigan appeals court has overturned the 10 year prison sentence of a minister sent up the river for violating his probation. In June 2008 Rev. Edward Pickney, already on probation for election fraud, published an angry newspaper article in which he referred to a judge as dumb, racist and corrupt. Another judge convicted him of a probation violation and sent him to prison for 3 to 10 years, where he remained until the recent ruling.

Barack Obama's latest effort to reach out to his adversaries was to announce that he will speak at Notre Dame's commencement. This one looks likely to blow up in his face as over 100,000 Catholic religious leaders, alumni, and pro-life activists have protested against his plans. Patrick Reilly, President of Cardinal Newman Society, called Obama's selection "the last straw" and launched notredamescandal.com to collect signatures on petitions opposing Obama's presence at Notre Dame.
