Nope, That's Not Hope You Can Believe In

The poster became an icon during the 2008 presidential campaign.  It was a highly stylized headshot of a wistful looking Barack Obama all done up in a striking red, white and blue display with the word HOPE printed underneath him.  It was a thematic element in the campaign, at once pointing to a key part of Obama's message while giving off a populist, feel good sort of vibe.  But, like everything else in the US, all good things come to a litigious end.  Because the tale of the Obama HOPE poster may come attached with a lawsuit.

Preliminary reports suggest that this year, for the first time, Toyota's worldwide sales will top that of US automaker General Motors, prompting our own tomc to offer up our headline by reinterpreting Charles Wilson's oft-quoted phrase "What’s good for the country is good for General Motors, and vice versa" (which some believe to be true), to include Toyota in place of GM.

Wal-Mart Workers Want Wage Whitewash Withdrawn

On August 23, a hearing will be held to determine whether a temporary restraining order should be granted to stop "improper communications" from Wal-Mart. These alleged communications have been described as "borderlin[ing] on criminal witness intimidation," which is supposedly being carried out by local store managers.
