On the off chance that your world travels should find you in Beirut, Lebanon the militant Islamic group Hezbollah has a stop for your itinerary.  Located in Beirut's southern suburbs, it's been called a creepy new museum by some and a showcase of "divine victory" over the Israelis by others.  It is Hezbollah's latest testament to its claim of being on the front line against Israel; it's the Spider's Web.

For one US Navy veteran who went to Iraq as a private security contractor, Iraq was a horrifying experience. He was locked in a tiny solitary confinement cell, kept awake with loud music, bright lights and threatened with physical torture for months... by US troops.

Fall Of The Super Power

Profiteering and warmongering aside, powerful nations tend to collectively think that they can beat the smaller powers into submission when need be, making armed conflict well worth the political trouble. A new University of Georgia study finds, however, that military incursions against apparently weaker nations aren't always tea and crackers and home by four. Indeed, since World War II, "Super Powers" making major hostile incursions against lesser powers have succeeded in their goals barely 60% of the time.
